Auto-sign in on your second Roku

How to set up, or sync, subscription channels in your account on a second Roku® streaming device

Each time you add an additional Roku streaming player or Roku TV™, you need to set up the new device and link it to a Roku account. If you use your existing Roku account, any apps that you have added to a Roku device already linked to your account are downloaded and installed on the new device automatically. In addition, a feature called Automatic Account Link automatically signs you into any supported apps that you have already logged into on your existing Roku device.

  • Note: When an app doesn't support Automatic Account Link, you may be required to enter your username and password on the new Roku device.

Automatic Account Link saves you the hassle of remembering and entering the username and password for each subscription on a new Roku device. When you have an active subscription and you have already entered your account credentials for a supported subscriptions, Automatic Account Link automatically signs you into the app on your newly activated Roku device.

Why am I not automatically signed into a subscription on my new Roku device?

To be signed into a subscription automatically, ALL the following must be true.

  • Your new Roku device must be linked to the correct Roku account: Link your new Roku device to the same Roku account where your existing Roku device is linked. To find the email address for the Roku account linked to your existing Roku device, go to Settings > System > About. For help updating your account information, read about how you can change the email address or password for your Roku account.
  • The app must support Automatic Account Link: not all apps support it.
  • Your subscription must be valid: Check the status of your subscription with the provider. If your subscription is billed to your Roku account, check that your credit card is in good standing. For help changing the expiration date or other card details, learn how to update the payment method on your Roku account.
  • The supported subscription must be authenticated on your existing Roku device: To check, try launching the app on your existing Roku device and see if you're asked to enter your username and password. Some subscriptions may periodically request a user reenter their account credentials.
