What is Pro Monitoring powered by Noonlight?

Roku has partnered with Noonlight, a professional monitoring provider, to look out for you and your family any time, day or night. When you add Pro Monitoring powered by Noonlight to your Roku Home Monitoring system, live, US-based agents can send emergency help when an alarm goes off. You can also use the one-tap panic button in the Roku Smart Home mobile app or on your keypad to request emergency assistance even if the alarm isn’t active.

hen an alarm is triggered, the siren on your Roku hub sounds, and you’ll get a notification on your phone. Then, a live agent will text you to check on your safety and determine whether you need further assistance. If you need assistance or don’t respond, the agent will send emergency services to your home.

If you press the panic button, the alarm will not sound, but a live agent will reach out to you and send help if needed.

Do I need Pro Monitoring to use the Roku Home Monitoring System?

If you plan to self-monitor your home, you don’t need a subscription to use your Roku Home Monitoring System. In self-monitoring mode, you’ll get notifications for entry and motion alerts sent to your phone, and the siren will sound when an alarm is triggered. However, a monitoring agent will not reach out to you or send help if you need it. In the case of a true emergency, you’ll have to contact the authorities yourself.

The benefit of Pro Monitoring powered by Noonlight is the peace of mind knowing that live agents are always on call. If the worst-case scenario happens, a live agent will text you to assess the situation and request emergency assistance on your behalf. If you don't answer the text, the agent will send emergency assistance straight to your location.

Is there a free trial for Pro Monitoring powered by Noonlight?

There is no free trial for Pro Monitoring, but your purchase of a Roku Home Monitoring starter kit may qualify you for a discount on the first year of service when paid annually.

How do I sign up for and activate Pro Monitoring powered by Noonlight?

Getting started with Pro Monitoring is simple.

  1. Begin by setting up the hub, sensors, and keypad that came with the Roku Smart Home Monitoring System SE
  2. During setup of your system, you’ll receive an email with a link to the Roku Home Monitoring Subscription page. Alternatively, you can simply go to Roku Smart Home Subscription and choose “Subscribe now.”
  3. Sign in to your Roku account
  4. Choose annual or monthly billing for your subscription
  5. If you have Roku Smart Home cameras that are not included in your Roku Smart Home Subscription, you’ll have the option of adding a camera plan at this time. Choose annual or monthly billing for the camera plan, or skip this step. Learn more about Roku Smart Home camera subscription
  6. Select a payment method, and complete your purchase by following the on-screen instructions
  7. Return to the Smart Home mobile app to activate Pro Monitoring. Professional monitoring will not start until you do this.
  8. Follow the instructions in the app to enter your contact information, add secondary contacts, provide details about your location, and choose a code word that will be required if you speak with a Noonlight agent

You can purchase a monthly or annual subscription for Pro Monitoring, and for one, multiple, or all of your cameras and doorbells. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel.

The total price will depend on your billing preferences and the number of devices you have in your Roku Smart Home Subscription. The Roku Smart Home Subscription is currently available only in the U.S. (not available in U.S. territories).

  • Note: If you subscribe to both the Pro Monitoring and camera plans, you’ll see a charge for each plan on your credit card statement.

How can I change my payment plan?

If you decide you want to go from a monthly to a yearly plan or vice versa, it's easy to change. Your new subscription will start when your current billing cycle ends.

  1. Sign in to your Roku account
  2. Select Manage your subscriptions
  3. Under Active subscriptions, select Roku Smart Home Subscription
  4. Select Manage subscription
  5. Under Pro Monitoring, select Manage
  6. Choose a new payment option (monthly or yearly)
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions to update your subscription

How to temporarily pause professional monitoring

You can pause professional monitoring whenever you need to. For instance, if you're setting up new home monitoring sensors or testing your system, you may want to pause professional monitoring so you don't accidentally send a false alert to Noonlight. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to the Roku Smart Home mobile app
  2. Select Monitoring
  3. Choose Home monitoring settings
  4. Choose Pause pro monitoring
  5. To resume pro monitoring, repeat these steps

While professional monitoring is paused, Noonlight will not respond if an alarm is triggered. Remember, you'll need to turn professional monitoring back on to resume 24/7 monitoring.

  • Note: Pausing professional monitoring does not pause your Pro Monitoring subscription.

How to turn off auto-renew and cancel your Roku Smart Home Subscription

  1. Sign in to your Roku account
  2. Select Manage your subscriptions
  3. Under Active subscriptions, select Roku Smart Home Subscription
  4. Select Manage subscription
  5. Under Pro Monitoring, select Manage
  6. Select Turn off auto-renew, then select Continue
  7. On the confirmation screen, select Turn off auto-renew

Once you turn off auto-renew, you'll continue to have access to Pro Monitoring powered by Noonlight for the remainder of your billing cycle.

For example, if you subscribe to a monthly plan on January 1 and cancel it on January 15, you'll have access to the subscription until January 31. If you purchase an annual subscription on January 1 and cancel it on January 31, you'll still have access to your subscription until December 31.

Without a subscription, the home monitoring system can be used to self-monitor your home. If you change your mind about canceling, go to Manage Subscriptions > Resubscribe.
